Hypnotherapy/Hypnosis in Dublin, why use it?
Do you live in Dublin? Are you thinking about quitting smoking? Do you want to lose weight? Are you thinking about trying hypnotherapy/hypnosis to do this? So why try hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy/Hypnosis has been around for a long time, some people have shown images of ancient Egypt, where people can be see in a hypnotic state? So its been around for a long time. Hypnosis is defined as a heightened state of awareness, not like a lot of people think, a lesser state of awareness. In other words under hypnosis/hypnotherapy you are more aware of where you are then less aware.
Clinical hypnotherapy is not the same as stage hypnosis. After all you would not go to a state hypnotist to stop smoking, lose weight or overcome a fear of flying? So you would not go to a clinical hypnotherapist to jump around like a chicken, like you see at stage show.
Clinical hypnotherapy has been used for a long time by famous Doctors such as Freud, that’s where the famous Freudian couch comes from. A few hundred years ago hypnotherapy was part of main stream medical training and practice. Until a man named Franz Mesmer came along in France. He used the skills he learned in hypnotherapy to develop something called Animal Magnetism and made a lot of money out of it and put the trade into the bad books.
Then it became the stuff of stage shows and funfairs, or in today’s terms college freshers weeks and pubs in Spain where you can see stage hypnosis done nightly for entertainment. That however was until the 1950’s when a Doctor called Erickson, studied and showed that Hypnotherapy can be used quiet effectively to help those with everyday issues, such as smoking, anxiety, weight loss, stress reduction, phobias plus many more day to day issues. Today it is one of the most effective ways to quit smoking or lose weight and if you visit our home page you can see the stats that show the hypnotherapy/hypnosis has been proven to be the best treatment for so many issues and can help you right now
Clinical hypnosis is NOT the same as stage hypnosis, you will always be fully in control, you will not do anything you would not normally do and you will not lose control of either your body or your mind at any time. We do not swing watches or make you pretend to be a dog, that is stage hypnosis.
A study by Dr. A. Barrios revealed the following recovery rates in American Health Magazine. Psycho-analysis: 38% recovery after 600 sessions (Approx. 12 years.) Behavior Therapy: 72% recovery after 22 sessions (Approx 6 Months.) Clinical hypn0sis: 93% recovery after only 6 sessions.

What is the difference between clinical and stage hypnosis
Clinical Hypnosis is NOT the same as stage hypnosis. Under clinical hypnosis you are full aware and able to hear everything the therapist is saying to you. You have full control of you mind and body, You know exactly what is going on and what you are doing, you are just in a more relaxed state than normal. Like you would be if you were day-dreaming.
What happens when I am under hypnosis
You will not lose consciousness, you will not surrender your will, you will not become weak minded, you will not reveal secrets, you will not be asleep.
Then what will happen
You will be totally relaxed and in a heightened state of awareness, normally around 20 times to what you are normally.

Your Doctor’s training cannot be replaced by hypnotherapy. Check out all health problems first with your doctor if in any doubt about quitting smoking or losing weight.
